On August 5, 2010 we broke ground in an effort to build the house pictured on the front screen. Arlene and I worked long days trying to get as much completed as we possibly could. We knew we wanted to get the garage weathered in before winter. We did make that deadline as well as getting the first floor floor joists and sub-flooring installed before winter put a stop to our work.
2011 started with a lot of rain. That made it very difficult for us to work on the house. All of the dirt was clay. When the clay is wet it sticks to your boots and makes it very hard to get any work done. We couldn’t work on rainy days and then for several days thereafter. We did manage to make some progress in 2011 although it was far less than we had hoped for.
2012 turned out to be a year that was wet and hot. That made it difficult to get things constructed.
